Oprah Lists New York Penthouse

Oprah Winfrey, the Queen of talk TV and now the owner of OWN, a new cable television channel is selling her highly Oprah Penthouse coveted Manhattan, New York penthouse, listing it for $7.9 million.

Winfrey has reportedly spent little time at the high-end Manhattan penthouse, buying it in a trust to discourage others from learning about the purchase. She has rented it out to life long bud and new CBS Morning Show anchor Gayle King. But King reportedly wanted another place to call home while she’s working in the Big Apple on “CBS This Morning” full time.

The 3 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom apartment was vacated by King before placing the unit on the market. It’s roomy style features beautiful wooden flooring and views of Manhattan’s skyline that are worth the apartment’s value alone. The place was purchased in 2008 for $7.1 million before prices took a dip in the Big Apple.

The current asking price, however, may come close, especially if the buyer is a fan of the talk show diva and consents to an in-person appearance. The penthouse is still very new in all appearances, having been completed in just 2006 as part of a 57-unit condominium development.

Oprah’s unit features 2,530 square feet and wall to wall window space with a 768-foot window terrace for viewing from the 36 th floor of the skyscraper. The modern elegance of the unit features a triangle shaped living room, beautiful kitchen and master suite with three walk-in closets, a jetted tub for soaking and a sleek shower.
